Use these to introduce yourself:

• Hello! My name is Ana.
• I’m from Mexico. / I’m Mexican.
• I’m a student. / I work in a hospital.
• I live in Madrid.
• I like music and hiking.

✅ Keep it short and friendly!

2. Questions to Keep the Conversation Going

After introducing yourself, ask questions like:

• What’s your name?
• Where are you from?
• What do you do? (job or student)
• Where do you live?
• What do you like doing?

✅ Always respond politely: “Nice to meet you!”

3. Polite Responses and Follow-Up

Use these to sound friendly and engaged:

• Nice to meet you! / Pleased to meet you!
• Really? That’s interesting!
• How long have you lived here?
• Do you like it here?

⚠️ Avoid personal questions on first meeting (age, salary, relationship status).

Essential Introduction Phrases

natural “Hi! I’m Luis. I’m from Colombia. Nice to meet you!”
unnatural “I am Luis. I exist in Colombia.” — too robotic!
