What are compound-complex sentences? A compound-complex sentence contains at least two independent clauses and one or more dependent clauses. These sentences combine coordination (joining equal ideas with words like "and" or "but") and subordination (joining unequal ideas with words like "because," "although," or "when"). They are used to express nuanced, layered ideas clearly and fluently—for example: "Although I was tired, I finished my homework, and I went to bed late."
Each sentence will be spoken three times at a natural pace. You will have enough time to repeat each sentence at a normal pace after each playback. Use the controls to pause, repeat, go back, or advance.
