In 1903, in America, two brothers called Orville and Wilbur loved flying more than bicycles. They built kites and gliders every day. They studied birds to learn how wings work. All their friends watched and laughed.
One windy day in Kitty Hawk, they tested their airplane called the Flyer. Orville climbed in and flew for twelve seconds! The brothers jumped and shouted, "We did it!"
They continued to improve their invention. Now airplanes fly everywhere. People travel the world fast. The Wright brothers changed history forever!
